Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” will debut in Korea with the arrival of the global streaming service Disney+ in the country Nov. 12.

The Walt Disney Company’s streaming service announced that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series will become available to users here on the day of its launch.

Created by filmmaker Jac Schaeffer, who directed the Marvel film, “Black Widow,” the nine-part series picks up after the 2019 film, “Avengers: Endgame.” It follows a super-powered couple from the MCU: Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany).

Wanda and her android husband settle into their ideal suburban life in a town called Westview. But the viewer soon realizes that the town that they came to for a “normal” life is not what it seems.

The series received 23 nominations at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards and notched three awards, handing the first Emmy win to Marvel Studios.

The launch of Disney+ next month will bring in a wide array of films and series, including Korean originals.

The streaming site announced earlier this month that it plans to release about 50 original content items by 2025.

It will also roll out the first official spin-off of “Running Man,” which is Korea’s long-running popular variety show. “Outrun by Running Man” will star three of the original cast members: Kim Jong-kook, Haha and Jee Seok-jin.

The romance series, “Rookie,” starring K-pop star Kang Daniel and actress Chae Soo-bin, and “Sixth Sense Kiss,” starring Yoon Kye-sang and Seo Ji-hye, are also set to hit the streaming service.
