Singer and actor Im Jin-ah, who is better known as Nana, of K-pop girl group After School, will star as the lead in Netflix’s new Korean original series “Glitch.”

The actress’ agency, Pledis Entertainment, said Im has taken the role of Heo Bo-ra, who is a not-so-popular YouTube creator with only a few hundred subscribers, in the upcoming mystery comedy series.

Led by director Roh Deok, who is known for directing the crime thriller film, “The Exclusive: Beat the Devil’s Tattoo,” the series will revolve around a woman named Hong Ji-hyo, and a group of UFO enthusiasts hunting down the secret behind a mysterious light.

One day, Ji-hyo’s boyfriend, Lee Si-gook (Lee Dong-hwi) goes missing. So she reaches out for help to find him through a club of UFO enthusiasts online. A group of the club members, including Bo-ra, joins Ji-hyo to find the traces of missing people who disappeared via an unidentified beam.

The series was penned by Gin Han-sai, who wrote Netflix’s hit series, “Extracurricular.”

Im debuted as a member of the K-pop group, After School, in 2009 with the single, “Because of You.” The group soon shot to stardom and released several hits, including “DIVA” (2012) and “Flashback,” until the members went their separate ways in 2014.

She began acting after landing a supporting role in the Korean adaptation of the TV series, “The Good Wife,” in 2016. Since then, she has been taking lead roles in films and TV series, including the crime action film, “The Swindlers,” and the legal series, “Justice.”

She recently played the role of top actress Oh Joo-in in MBC’s romantic comedy series, “Oh My Ladylord,” which wrapped up this month.
